There are a few Marvel movies and TV shows that you should watch before She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. The upcoming Disney+ series stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters, an attorney who transforms into a green 6-foot-7 superhero. There are many films and series set before this series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and these are the ones that you should check out if you want to enjoy this show to the max.
Which Marvel movies and shows should you watch before She-Hulk?
The first movie you should watch before She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is The Incredible Hulk (2008). This early MCU installment starred Edward Norton as Bruce Banner before the role was recast with Mark Ruffalo, starting with The Avengers (2012). Ruffalo has portrayed the character in many MCU projects since, and he will have a starring role in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law.
Also returning in the new series is Tim Roth, who appeared in The Incredible Hulk as the antagonist, Emil Blonsky/Abomination. As the Hulk and Abomination are set to share the screen again in this film, they will be referencing the events of the 2008 movie. With She-Hulk’s self-aware nature, it’s likely that the show will even poke fun at the recasting. Abomination also appears in Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, a film you should watch as it gets referenced in this series.
You should also have a general understanding of the MCU events leading up to this film. This show features Ruffalo as Smart Hulk, a merged version of the brains of Bruce Banner and the brawn of the Hulk. Those unfamiliar with Hulk’s progression may want to watch Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame to see how the Hulk ended up here.
Wong will appear in this series, so those unfamiliar with the character and his powers may want to check out Doctor Strange. Furthermore, She-Hulk is set to bring back Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil. You will want to watch the Marvel series Daredevil to have a full appreciation of the character, but if you don’t have time, you can watch Spider-Man: No Way Home for his brief cameo.
She-Hulk is set to be a series made for MCU fans, both dedicated and casual, to enjoy. The first episode premieres on Disney+ on Thursday, August 18.
