Rollerdrome Beginner’s Guide: Tips and Tricks to Get a Higher Score

Rollerdrome is a challenging game that blends Tony Hawk’s tricks with Max Payne’s shooting. Having to concentrate on both aspects of gameplay simultaneously can lead to you getting overwhelmed quickly. Our beginner’s guide has some tips to help you get the hang of Rollerdrome’s unique playstyle.

Rollerdrome Tips: Beginner’s guide to completing objectives and getting a higher score

Rollerdrome Beginners Guide Tips 5

Like in the Tony Hawk games, you proceed through Rollerdrome’s campaign primarily by completing a certain number of objectives. Some of these require you to get a high score; others may ask you to perform tricks or combos in certain areas of the level. These general tips should help you accomplish any task the game throws at you. So now, head out there and become rollerdrome champ.

Get in rhythm

Rollerdrome Beginners Guide Tips 3

There’s an ebb and flow to Rollerdrome’s gameplay that you’ll need to master if you want to complete the game. Killing enemies increases your combo multiplier, and performing tricks gets you points.

The game pushes you to alternate between these actions since pulling off tricks also reloads your weapons. Still, you’ll need to find the rhythm if you want to get the highest score possible. If you spend too much time doing tricks, your multiplier will time out. Alternatively, if you try to keep killing, you’ll find yourself without ammo and with a lower score.

Know thy enemy

Rollerdrome Beginners Guide Tips 2

Each foe in Rollerdrome has a different weakness. You’ll eventually amass a small arsenal, and switching between guns is vital to quickly defeating enemies. Some weapons have an alternate fire function as well. For example, entering slow-mo and timing your shotgun shots will fire a slug instead of buckshot.

To become a real pro at the game, you’ll need to become proficient with each weapon. Using the right gun can be the difference between a short or grueling run-through a level.

Get used to repetition

Rollerdrome Beginners Guide Tips 4

You may be able to clear all the objectives in the first few levels in one run. However, like in the Tony Hawk series, you’ll find yourself repeating most of them at least a few times to complete enough objectives to move on to the next level. Fortunately, it’s a cumulative number, so if you’re having trouble, you can go back to a more manageable area and try to complete any outstanding objectives you have there.

Cheat if you need to

Rollerdrome actually has cheats, which is rare for a game these days. If you’re just absolutely stuck, head into the assist menu and turn on infinite ammo, reflex time, unlock all levels, turn on invincibility, or whatever else you need. Your score won’t hit the online leaderboards with assists active. Still, you can practice a level until you’re ready to complete it without help.
