Fans are wondering if there’ll be a The Orville Season 3, Episode 11 release date on Hulu. Unfortunately, the show’s future is regrettably uncertain, and viewers are hoping a bit more is on the way before its potential end. We’ll look at The Orville’s future and the fate of the eleventh episode of New Horizons below.
Will there be a The Orville Season 3, Episode 11 release date?
Unfortunately, fans that are hoping for a The Orville Season 3, Episode 11 release date will be disappointed. There are only ten episodes in the third season. That wasn’t always the plan, though.
When Hulu announced the third season of The Orville, it was revealed that there’d be 11 episodes. Later, fans were confused when the series debuted, and that number had shrunk to 10. Some might have thought the original announcement included a typo, but that’s not the case. Instead, there is an eleventh episode that wasn’t filmed due to COVID-19 travel restrictions. Luckily, it still exists in another form.
The missing episode was turned into a novella called The Orville: Sympathy for the Devil (which we can assume would have been the title of the episode) that was released on July 19. 2022. This was to be a self-contained episode that would have fit between episodes 8 and 9.
Sympathy for the Devil centered around Otto, a man raised by a simulation when the Krill captured his parents. Unfortunately for him, the simulation began in Germany in 1914, and as he grew up, Otto found himself swept into the anti-Semitic fervor and eventually ran a concentration camp. At that point, Ed and Kelly enter the program and reveal that his entire life has been a simulation.
The rest of the novel deals with trying to deprogram Otto and dealing with how unsympathetic of a character he is despite the fact he’s just a victim of the Krill. It’s a heady story, and I have a feeling that COVID might not have been the only factor in preventing its filming.
