In 2019, Steve Rogers passed on his shield to Sam Wilson/The Falcon in Avengers: Endgame. The Marvel Cinematic Universe is now set to have a new Captain America in his fourth film, Captain America: New World Order, this time with Wilson carrying the stars and stripes. Superhero fans have eagerly anticipated a new look at Cap since he donned the uniform in The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, and this is everything we know about the upcoming MCU film.
When is the Captain America: New World Order (2024) release date?
The fourth Captain America movie was announced on the same day as the season finale of The Falcon and the Winter Soldier in 2021.
At San Diego Comic-Con 2022, the release date was announced. Captain America: New World Order will be flying into theaters on May 3, 2024. It will be the 36th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and the twelfth installment of Phase Five.
Who is in the Captain America: New World Order (2024) cast?
On August 18, 2021, Anthony Mackie closed a deal to star in the new Captain America film. He has portrayed Sam Wilson/Falcon in the Marvel Cinematic Universe since he first teamed with Steve Rogers in Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014). He will be portraying Captain America, and with The Falcon and the Winter Soldier establishing a newfound friendship with Bucky Barnes, we may get another appearance from Sebastian Stan as the Winter Soldier.
As this is a continuation of the Disney+ miniseries, there is always the possibility of seeing more familiar faces, such as Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, who we previously saw building her empire as the Power Broker. We have also had two MCU appearances from Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine in Black Widow and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier. As she had previously teamed with Wyatt Russell as U.S. Agent, this sequel may give us an answer to what these two have been doing together.
Mackie remains the only cast member to have officially signed on.
Who is the Captain America: New World Order (2024) director?

This Nigerian-American filmmaker has previously directed The Cloverfield Paradox in 2018 and Luce in 2019. He is about to bring a new directorial vision to the Captain America franchise.
