Upon revealing the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty release date, Marvel put many rumors to rest about the fifth Avengers movie at San Diego Comic-Con 2022. Marvel Studio President Kevin Feige surprised everyone at the company’s designated panel in Hall H when it not only announced that the Marvel Cinematic Universe Phase 4 would soon be over, but that the fifth and sixth Avengers films to finish Phase 6 had already been set in its release schedule.
What is the Avengers: The Kang Dynasty release date?
Avengers: The Kang Dynasty is slated to release in theaters on May 2, 2025. If that weren’t enough, it will be only the first of two Avengers movies in the same year, with Avengers: Secret Wars finishing out the Multiverse Saga later in 2025.
Not much is known about the movie, and it looked like we would have to sit and speculate on it for several years before its release, but then The Hollywood Reporter unveiled on July 26 that Shang-Chi’s Destin Daniel Cretton would be set to direct the film. This will be a part of his overall deal with Marvel in which he will be a producer for a live-action series featuring Wonder Man and be a director for the Shang-Chi sequel.
While the cast and the plot for the film is still largely a mystery, Jonathan Majors will be reprising his role of Kang as introduced in the Disney+ series Loki. Just to make things clear, there will be another version of Kang in Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania which is set to release on February 17, 2023. But given that this is the Multiverse Saga, having different versions of Kang is not out of left field. It’s been established that Kang the Conqueror and his other evil variants wish to rule over as many alternate universes as possible, so he will be in direct conflict with Doctor Strange and the rest of the Avengers soon enough.
Are there any Avengers: The Kang Dynasty leaks?
Along with the titles of the next two Avengers films, it was originally leaked that Jonathan Majors’ Kang would be the major villain in the fifth Avengers movie before it was confirmed by the Marvel panel. Since then, we haven’t had any leaks for the film, but we’ve got plenty of time before 2025 for more details to be inadvertently revealed.
