Fans are ready for the Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro Season 2 release date. Nagatoro was a hit during the Spring 2021 anime season, so many assumed that it’d get a continuation. However, when 2022 rolled around with no announcement, fans got nervous. Thankfully, we recently got confirmation via the official website that the show will get another season.
What is the Miss Nagatoro Season 2 release date?
Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro Season 2 will release in January 2022. Interestingly, the animation studio is changing for the second season. Instead of Telecom Animation Film, OLM, Inc. will be producing Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro 2nd Attack. OLM recently worked on several other hits like Komi Can’t Communicate and Summer Time Rendering, which means Nagatoro is in good hands for her second outing.
We’re not sure what the second season will consist of yet. The first 12 episodes followed the manga’s overall story in chronological order. However, since it’s made of two skits (think older Nickolodeon cartoons), manga chapters that didn’t focus on the main story were told out of order in the anime. So, it’s tough to predict what chapters we’ll see in 2nd Attack.
Fans of the anime love it because of its non-traditional approach to romance and its focus on comedy. Nagatoro’s bullying might put off new viewers, but it quickly becomes apparent that she has a crush on the timid Naoto, even if she doesn’t know it. It’s played as comedy, but it’s also a more realistic look at high school social structures and romance than any gushy slice of life out there.
It’s great that we finally know when to expect Nagatoro Season 2 to premiere and that it’ll stream on Crunchyroll. Unlike with western shows, popularity doesn’t guarantee an anime will continue. Fans had already come to terms that there might not be a second season, so we’re delighted to see it when it releases in the Winter 2023 anime lineup.
