Stranger Things Season 4 Vecna Dead

Stranger Things Season 4: Is Vecna dead or alive?

At the end of Stranger Things Season 4, fans are left wondering exactly what happened to Vecna and if he was dead or not. After a season building up to the confrontation between him and Eleven, things were over quickly, and his fate was only briefly addressed afterward. With the twin shocks coming from Eddie and Max, it’s easy to miss what happened to this season’s antagonist.

Is Vecna dead or alive at the end of Stranger Things Season 4?

Stranger Things Season 4 Vecna Dead or Alive

Vecna is still alive at the end of Stranger Things Season 4. Though Eleven severely injured him, he was able to escape when she was preoccupied with Max. Presumably, he is still in control of the process which opened the giant gate in Hawkins or is actively encouraging it to grow.

Vecna still wants to destroy the world. In particular, Eleven in her friends are his primary targets, and now that the giant gate is open, he may be able to attack them in the real world.

As of the end of Season Four, we don’t know Vecna’s whereabouts, but it’s entirely possible that he’s hiding in the real world. We can assume he’s able to travel between the two versions of Hawkins just as freely as Eleven and the gang. It’s possible he might even disguise himself as a living human.

However, we know that Vecna is injured, so his powers are likely weaker than usual. So he may have to lay low for a while before he can make his move. We also don’t know his relationship with the Mind Flayer. Does he serve it, or does it serve him? Can it even think for itself, or is it just some weird force of nature that Vecna draws power from? Hopefully, we’ll get those questions answered sometime during the next season.
