Ubisoft has revealed how to register for The Division mobile closed alpha alongside the announcement of the game. Available for iOS and Android platforms, The Division Resurgence plans to bring the open world of wartorn New York City and the third-person shooter gameplay that The Division fans expect as a free-to-play mobile game.
How to enter The Division Mobile closed alpha
The only way to officially register for The Division Resurgence is to head to the main website and scroll all the way to the bottom of the page. After selecting between Android and iOS devices, you will need to create an Ubisoft account if you don’t already have one, though you can log in using details from Xbox, PlayStation, Facebook, or Twitch. You can also expect to answer some questions about your gaming habits and which mobile devices you own.
While Ubisoft has yet to announce the release date for the closed alpha, several days before it begins, waves of invitations will be sent to those who registered depending on the platforms the developers need to test. Though registering is not a guarantee than you’ll get in, there will be multiple testing phases to give you more opportunities to enter. If you’re selected, an email will be sent for you to sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before being granted access to the closed alpha. The NDA will restrict you from sharing videos or screenshots of the playtest of course, but you can discuss your experience in a private forum and Discord channel provided by the developer.
In The Division Resurgence, you’ll play an agent of the Strategic Homeland Division (SHD) in your attempt to restore order to the streets of New York City. While the game is free-to-play, Ubisoft hopes to maintain the franchise’s core gameplay mechanics while adapting the controls and session lengths for handheld devices. The storyline will give you a new perspective on the events in The Division 1 and 2, featuring new enemies, factions, and characters not yet part of The Division universe.
