How to fix the Fortnite “This client is not compatible with the currently deployed server” error

Fortnite ‘This Client Is Not Compatible With the Currently Deployed Server’ Error Fix

For the majority of people who encounter the Fortnite “This client is not compatible with the currently deployed server” error there is a rather simple solution. As first noted by IFireMonkey, users should be able to solve problem by restarting the game. After closing the game and starting it back up, the server error should be resolved, allowing you to get back to the action.

If the tried and tested restart method doesn’t work there are some other things that you can try. The first suggestion is to verify the game files to ensure all the data for Fortnite is correct. To do this you have to:

  • Open the Epic Games Launcher from the desktop
  • Go to your games library
  • Find Fortnite in the list and click the three dots next to its name
  • Hit the Verify option

The second technique involves changing your permissions in the Epic Games Launcher to avoid running into problems. After shutting down Fortnite follow these instructions:

  • Right-click the Epic Games Launcher shortcut on the desktop
  • Select “Run as administrator”
  • Launch Fortnite again

The only other option if the “this client is not compatible with the currently deployed server” error persists is to restart your computer and internet connection. If neither of these works, your bet would be to contact tech support on the official Fortnite site.
