How to Update Hay Day If It’s Not Working, Crashing, or Stuck on Loading Screen

Players have been trying to figure how to update Hay Day, the popular farming simulator for mobile platforms, particularly after incidents when the game has broken, crashed, or remained stuck on a loading screen. Released by Supercell back in June 2012 on iOS and November 2013 on Android, Hay Day has had a very long lifecycle, so it’s not surprising that it has faced technical difficulties in keeping the game up to date through all the mandatory phone updates.

How do you update Hay Day?

How to Update Hay Day

In general, Hay Day players should attempt to clear the cache for the application by going through their phone’s settings, clicking on Force Stop (on Android) before doing so. Then launch the game again to see if that helps in downloading the most updated version of the game.

Check the app store again too, as the update has been buried under a block of text in the past. Also try closing the store, entering the app again, and searching Hay Day by name to see if the update prompt pops up. Depending on your region, you may need to wait a few hours for the update to populate your app store.

Worse case scenario, you’ll need to delete the data as well and then install it from scratch, perhaps as a apk from a trusted website, before restarting the device. It is recommended that you make sure that your Hay Day save is connected to Facebook, Google Plus, Game Center, or another service that can back up your progress before doing a full re-install.

Also check to make sure that you have the latest version of the game installed. If you tried using WiFi to download an updated version of Hay Day, try downloading it using 4G/5G instead (vice versa).

That said, you should check the official Twitter page for Hay Day to make sure that the game isn’t under maintenance. In the update on April 25, 2022, which added seasonal Easter content to the farm, the developer quickly realized that there were unforeseen issues and notified players that the game would need to go under emergency maintenance.

Any continuing issues with Hay Day have in the past been recognized by Supercell. It may take them a few months to resolve the core issue, but a fix usually arrives some time in the pipeline.
