Verizon iPhone Visual Voicemail missing fix

iPhone Visual Voicemail Not Working Verizon Fix

Those who have run into issues with visual voicemail not working on iPhone know how irritating of a problem it can be. Calling voicemail doesn’t fix it, and customer support is rarely helpful. So, what can be done to solve the problem? I had this issue with my Verizon iPhone. Still, I’d guess that fixing it on other carriers will follow a similar process.

How to fix visual voicemail not showing up on Verizon iPhone

One of the handy things about the iPhone is that it has visual voicemail built into the OS. So for many people, it’ll work with little to no setup; just open the phone app and hit the voicemail tab to see all the transcriptions. However, there is a problem where all that tab will say is “Call Voicemail.”

In my case, restarting the phone didn’t help, nor did resetting network settings. Chatting with customer support only got me some generic advice and no real help, so I felt stuck. Fortunately, this problem is incredibly easy to fix. The only prerequisite is that users need to have access to an account with manager-level permissions.

To fix visual voicemail not working on a Verizon iPhone, follow these steps:

  1. First, download the My Verizon app.
  2. Log in to the app with a manager account.
  3. Tap “Account” at the bottom of the app.
  4. Find the device with the issue under devices and tap “Manage Device.”
  5. Under the Tools section, select “View add-ons.”
  6. Scroll down and look for any entries that mention voicemail and tap “Manage” or “Learn More.”
  7. Select the correct line.
  8. There may be multiple selections here. Make sure to choose the one that says “Voice Mail to Text for iPhone.”
  9. Hit next at the bottom of the screen and confirm the subscription. (Note: It costs $2.99 a month)
  10. Once the subscription has been confirmed, reset the iPhone.
  11. If this worked properly, the voicemail tab in the phone app should have changed from saying “Call Voicemail” in the center of the screen to “No Voicemail.”

Note that it won’t transcribe previous voicemails. Only new ones that users receive after turning visual voicemail on will show up as text in the voicemail tab.
