Elden Ring Bloodstains Not Working Fix

Elden Ring Bloodstains Not Working Fix: Why Can’t I See Players Who Died?

Bloodstains in Elden Ring show where other players have died. Not only that, but they should also show how a player died. I say “should” because this doesn’t always work. Instead, players hit the “Touch Bloodstain” function and nothing happens, leaving them wondering “Why can’t I see players who died?” It’s a very annoying blood pool bug/glitch. Here’s how to fix the Elden Ring bloodstains not working error.

Why are Elden Ring bloodstains not working?

Elden Ring Bloodstains Not Working Fix

Elden Ring bloodstains are not working as of the latest patch. They were working prior to the launch of the game, but now users are reporting that they are either laggy or not working at all.

For many users, bloodstains appear but can’t be interacted with. Instead of showing the player and how they died, the pools of blood instead do nothing. The “Interact” function appears, but there’s no showcase of the player’s death.

Though developer FromSoftware hasn’t yet explained why the bloodstains aren’t working, it does seem to be down to the server or current version of the game. Similar mechanics have been disabled in games looking to lessen the server load, so that’s a possibility. Elden Ring has also received an update recently, which can sometimes break things that had been working prior to the patch.

How to fix Elden Ring bloodstains

Elden Ring Bloodstains Not Working Fix

To fix Elden Ring bloodstains, players should:

  • Ensure that the game is connected to the network.
    • A stable internet connection is required to experience online features like bloodstains.
  • Make sure the game is updated to the latest version.
    • Use the “Check for update” function on your respective platform.
  • Monitor the official @EldenRing Twitter account.
    • The developer uses Twitter for much of its messaging.

If the above workarounds don’t fix the issue, it’s unfortunately up to the developer to roll out a fix.
