Total War: Warhammer 3 Patch 1.0.1

Total War: Warhammer 3 Patch 1.0.1: February 24 Update

Total War: Warhammer 3 is now out in the wild, giving eager fans the chance to dive into a new action-filled installment. Unfortunately, like with all modern games, there are issues that need fixing with post-launch patches. In comes patch 1.0.1, with the “first handful of fixes.” Today’s patch targets “early reports of multiplayer and performance issues.” Read on for the full list of Total War: Warhammer 3 1.0.1 patch notes.

Total War: Warhammer 3 Patch Notes 1.0.1

Total War: Warhammer 3 Patch 1.0.1

  • Fixed an issue where the multiplayer lobby would refresh too quickly, preventing players from being able to select and join a room.
  • Fixed an issue that prevented invites to a multiplayer lobby from working properly.
  • The game now runs in DirectX 11 compatibility mode for all users by default. This is to prevent instances where users inadvertently ran on the legacy implementation of the DirectX 12 beta.
  • Improved how 12th generation Intel CPUs (aka ‘Alder Lake’ family) interact with the game, providing more consistent framerates when running on these processors.

While players may have been hoping for something more than the four different fixes detailed above, the changes should hopefully please users who were unable to select and join rooms, accept invites to multiplayer lobbies, struggling with Direct X 12, and/or suffering with a 12th gen Intel CPU.

Alongside the patch notes, the Total War team has encouraged user feedback through the following means: Steam, official forums, and the official Discord.

If today’s update doesn’t fully satisfy, worry not, for the devs are “already working on another package of fixes” which will be out “very soon.” There aren’t any details of what exactly those fixes will look to solve, but it sounds promising, at least.

In other gaming news, Elden Ring is the next big gaming release. Read the GameRevolution review to learn how it’s “an M-rated Breath of the Wild.” The Street Fighter 6 logo has been criticized for being suspiciously similar to an $80 Adobe Stock photo. The Bethesda.net launcher is retiring in May with all games being transferred to Steam.
