Horizon Forbidden West Blurry Visuals Fix: Pop-in, Performance, Fidelity, Graphics Issues

Players have been noticing a Horizon Forbidden West blurry visuals problem, particularly with the game’s Performance Mode graphics option. Although, there have also been reports of similar issues with the Fidelity Mode, too. What is the best Horizon Forbidden West graphics mode to choose and is there a way to make these modes look better? Is there a Horizon Forbidden West blurry graphics fix on PS5 and PS4? Here’s the need-to-know info.

Is there a Horizon Forbidden West blurry visuals fix?

To fix blurry and lower-resolution graphics in Horizon Forbidden West:

  • Head to the game’s Settings > Visual and change Graphics Mode to “favor resolution” instead of “favor performance.” This will reduce the game’s FPS but will look a lot sharper.
  • If still encountering visual issues such as a washed-out/blurred effect in this Fidelity mode, disable HDR in the game’s settings or decrease/turn off sharpness on the TV’s own visual settings.

The most common occurrence of blurry visuals in Horizon Forbidden West occurs when the game’s Performance mode is turned on. Generally, it looks great but the resolution is a little lower and there is a little motion blur on Aloy herself — even when the Motion Blur option is turned off in settings.

Simply change Performance mode to Fidelity/Resolution mode in the settings to make the game look nicer, as long as the player doesn’t mind Horizon Forbidden West not running quite as fast or at 60 FPS. That is the trade-off, unfortunately.
