Hogwarts Legacy is one of the most anticipated upcoming games, but there’s a ton we don’t know about it. The release date has already been delayed once, and not many details have been released since it was revealed. Nevertheless, we’ll take a look at when the game might finally launch, what the story and gameplay will be like, and what platforms it’ll come to below.
Hogwarts Legacy release date rumors
Hogwarts Legacy was announced to be in development at Avalanche Software in September 2020 with a release date of 2021. However, in January 2021, the game was delayed until 2022. Given the lack of updates about the game, players are increasingly doubtful that we’ll see it soon. However, a recent blog post on Wizarding World reaffirmed the 2022 release date.
Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy is a game that’s surrounded by rumors. We wouldn’t trust anything “leakers” say about it unless they have substantial evidence to back it up.
This is the kind of game that gets a big marketing run-up to launch. However, since there’s no promotion around it right now, we anticipate that it won’t be launched until late 2022 at the earliest.
What will the story and gameplay be like?
Hogwarts Legacy is set in the late 1800s, and players take the role of a student at the Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. It’s an action RPG that has players learning about magic through classes at the school, and applying these lessons in locations like the Forbidden Forest and Hogsmeade Village.
The game is set way too early for Voldemort to show up, and the antagonist hasn’t been revealed yet. The wizarding world is probably still a little wild in the late 1800s, so who knows what we might face.
Are there any trailers?
Only one trailer has been released for Hogwarts Legacy. The announcement trailer was shown at the PS5 event on September 16, 2020. Since then, we haven’t gotten a better look at the game.
