A lot of fans were left dangling with the incomplete conclusion and want to see a Wonder Egg Priority Season 2 release date in the near future. While the story was somewhat resolved, there are still plenty of questions that need to be answered.
Will we get a Wonder Egg Priority Season 2 release date?
Unlike many anime, Wonder Egg Priority isn’t based on a pre-existing manga. So, we can’t definitively say that there’ll be a second season release date. The first season ends with Ai Ohto setting out to save Neiru Aonuma from the Egg World, but we don’t know the results of her efforts. We also don’t know what transpired between Neiru and Frill in the Egg World in the meantime.
However, even though there is feasibly more to explore in this world, the production of the first season was rough enough that CloverWorks may not want to pursue a second. The series originally ended without airing the final episode. Because the production team couldn’t finish the eighth episode in time, they had to air a recap episode instead. Though the season technically ended on March 31, 2021, a Special Episode definitively concluded the series on June 30, 2021.
Is there any news about season 2?
Neither the show’s staff nor CloverWorks have made any announcements about season 2. While the special episode set the series up for a second season, an OVA, or a movie, we’ve heard nothing concerning any further production of Wonder Egg Priority. Despite being a sleeper hit internationally, the series is rumored to have not done that well in Japan. So, funding another season might be seen as too big of a risk, especially after the issues with the first one.
Unfortunately, it’s not looking good for Wonder Egg Priority Season 2, but anything is possible in the wacky world of anime production.
