Pokemon Black and White remake release date

Pokemon Black and White Remake Release Date Switch

Fans are already looking ahead toward the next Pokemon remakes. A Pokemon Black and White remake release date seems almost inevitable, but when can we expect it? We’ll take a look at when they might release and whether they’ll come out on Switch or not.

What is the release date for the Pokemon Black and White remakes?

Pokemon Black and White remake Switch release date

There’s no official release date for the Pokemon Black and White remake yet. However, Game Freak has steadily produced remakes since the release of Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen. Since then, every generation except for Gen 5 featured a remake of a previous Pokemon title.

Here are the North American release dates for the Pokemon remakes we’ve seen so far:

  • Pokemon FireRed and LeafGreen: September 7, 2004
  • Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver: March 14, 2010
  • Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire: November 21, 2014
  • Pokemon: Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go Eevee!: November 16, 2018
  • Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl: November 19. 2021

So, we can expect a remake to be released every 3-4 years. If that continues to be the case, we’ll get the Pokemon Black and White remakes in 2024-2025. However, we might get a set of Pokemon: Let’s Go Johto titles, which might set potential Black and White remakes even further. If that happens, we might not get them until 2027-2028.

It’s also entirely possible we might not get another set of remakes. With Pokemon Legends: Arceus, it seems like Game Freak is trying something new. This might lead to the company changing its typical release pattern. If so, the studio might decide to concentrate on new games only. Alternatively, it might have the same company that made the Diamond and Pearl remakes, ILCA, handle others in the future.

Since it’s likely going to be a few years before we see Pokemon Black and White remakes, Nintendo may have moved on to its next console by then. So, they’ll likely launch on the Switch 2 (or whatever Nintendo calls it).
