Persona 6 Release Date: PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch

Persona 6 Release Date: PS4, PS5, Xbox, PC, Switch

Persona 5 is one of the most critically acclaimed RPGs in history. That means Atlus has some big shoes to fill when it comes to Persona 6. This is a series that carries a lot of weight, and fans are eager to learn more about the next entry. So, does Persona 6 have a release date? Is there any word on whether it will launch for last-gen consoles like the PS4 or Xbox One? What do we actually know so far?

What is the Persona 6 release date?

What is the Persona 6 release date?

While Persona 6 is all but inevitable, the game hasn’t yet been formally revealed. As such, it has no release date. As usual, we can expect to hear more about when the game will be available after it’s been properly announced.

For now, we play the waiting game. Thankfully, we do at least know that Atlus is considering the next numbered Persona game. Persona 6 was unofficially confirmed in July of last year via a job posting. We haven’t heard much since then, but there’s no reason to think the series will end any time soon.

With that said, the next game may not look or feel quite like the past ones. Many of the talents behind Persona 5 moved on to Studio Zero, which is currently working on another game entirely — Project Re: Fantasy. With so many years and so many new minds looking ahead, there’s no telling how the newest Persona game will turn out.

Is Persona 6 coming to PS4, Xbox One, or Switch?

It’s unlikely that Persona 6 would release for the PlayStation 4 or Xbox One. Those are technically last-gen consoles, and more developers are moving on to current-gen offerings like the PS5 and Series X/S. Besides, the game could be several years away from release, putting it well outside the reach of last-gen hardware.

As for the Switch, it’s much the same story. There’s no telling when the game will launch, or if the Switch will still even relevant by then. With that said, Persona 5 never came to the Switch, so we’d probably expect the same from the next series entry.
