Hellbound Season 2 Release Date

Hellbound Season 2: Release date, time, how to watch

After an excellent first season, fans are clamoring for a Hellbound Season 2 release date on Netflix. This series continues the huge success South Korean media has seen in the West lately and left us wanting more after its initial six-episode run. Read on to see when we could expect to see Hellbound episode 7 below.

When will we see a Hellbound Season 2 release date?

Hellbound Season 2 Release date how ot watch

It’s possible that we might see Season 2 of Hellbound release in 2022. The first season was filmed from August 2020 to January 2021 and debuted in November 2021. So, if work on the second season started before the first aired, it may launch sometime in late 2022.

The first run ended with a ton of questions unanswered, so it seems a second season was definitely in mind. However, Netflix is erratic when it comes to ordering additional seasons. Even shows it pushed hard that were wide open for second seasons, like Cowboy Bebop, it often cancels those that underperform. Despite Hellbound’s popularity, Netflix’s policies might mean production on Season 2 hasn’t started yet. If that’s the case, we likely won’t see it until 2023.

There are so many things we hope are clarified in the second season. In the last episode, Bae Young-jae and Song So-hyun sacrifice themself to protect their baby from Judgment. This act calls the entire process, and the word of the New Truth Society, into question. We also see Park Jeong-ja, the single mother who was the subject of the first public Demonstration, reappear in her apartment five years after she was condemned to hell.

In Season 2, we’ll likely see some sort of cultural civil war as parts of society reject the teachings of the New Truth Society. We anticipate Min Hye-jin will be a central character, and we’ll hopefully see the detective, Yang Ik-june return to tell his story.
