Plutonium Call of Duty: Can you play on PS5, PS4, and Xbox?

If you miss the Call of Duty glory days, then the Plutonium Call of Duty platform might appeal to you. This fan-made community remasters and restores early-era CoD games for modern players, with their own servers to keep hackers away. For games like World at War and Modern Warfare 3, it’s the best way to play these games today. It’s a hit on PC, but is this fan-made service available on PS5, PS4, and Xbox?

Can you play Plutonium Call of Duty on PS5, PS4, and Xbox?

Plutonium Call of Duty

Sadly, Plutonium Call of Duty is not available to play on consoles. If you’re a PS5, PS4, or Xbox owner, you won’t be able to play these remastered versions on your system. Instead, it’s a PC-only experience, reserved only for computers.

Yes, even a cursory look at the Plutonium Call of Duty website explains why console support really isn’t feasible. Firstly, you have to install a proprietary launcher program to run these games, which wouldn’t be possible given consoles’ internet capabilities. You then have to download the revamped versions of the Call of Duty games too, where the same problem would arise.

Equally, since the revamped game’s servers are hosted privately, they wouldn’t be accessible via PS5, PS4, and Xbox. Those consoles only use the servers provided in-game, like Activision’s official servers in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Therefore, even if it was available on these platforms, you’d have a hard time getting into a game.

However, there is a silver lining, as you can use these controllers to play Plutonium Call of Duty on your PC. Yes, it’s compatible with Xbox controllers and both the DualShock 4 and DualSense of PS4 and PS5, respectively. Therefore, if you have a PC and want to use your console controller to play these revamped games, that option is there.

Elsewhere in Call of Duty, the Vanguard Dead Drop glitch is giving some players unlimited killstreaks. You can also check out our official review of the latest entry in the series.
