MultiVersus is a brand new platform fighter that’s drawing comparisons to the Super Smash Bros. series. Since that franchise is synonymous with Nintendo hardware, many are wondering if there’s a Switch, Switch Lite, and OLED model version on the way. So, is there a MultiVersus Nintendo Switch release date? Here’s the need-to-know info on Warner Bros.’ brawler starring Batman, Superman, Shaggy, and many more iconic characters going portable.
Is MultiVersus coming to Nintendo Switch?
MultiVersus is launching in 2022 for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, Series S, Xbox One, and PC. There is no MultiVersus Nintendo Switch release date at this time.
It’s possible that a MultiVersus Nintendo Switch port could launch in the future. Nintendo Switch almost certainly has the largest number of platform fighting fans, owing to its immensely popular Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game. Smash and MultiVersus share a lot in common, both in terms of their gameplay features and casts of characters that bring beloved properties together.
When multiplatform games don’t come to Nintendo Switch, it’s most commonly for one of two reasons. Firstly, it’s a small and/or independent studio that doesn’t have the resources to launch a port on day one — that’s not the case here. Secondly, the game is too intensive to run on the weaker Switch hardware — but, that doesn’t look to be the case either. Even if it was, WB Games could release a MultiVersus: Cloud Version to stream on Nintendo Switch.
