Battlefield 2042 Ranks: Max level cap

Fans are wondering how the Battlefield 2042 rank system works and the max level cap. Most of the games in the series have allowed players to get XP and level up to unlock new weapons and gear. However, each title had its own spin on the system and different max ranks. We’ll take a look at the Battlefield 2042 ranks below and what they’re called.

How do Battlefield 2042 ranks work?

Battlefield 2042 ranks work much as they have in previous Battlefield games. A player is rewarded with XP based on their performance in each match (which is impossible to tell during a round because of the lack of a scoreboard). This XP goes toward leveling up a player’s rank. Achieving new ranks unlock things like weapons, gear, vehicles, vehicle weapons and equipment, and cosmetics (which are great if the loadout bug doesn’t rear its head).

Strangely, Battlefield 2042’s ranking system doesn’t actually have any names for the ranks. In past games (except for Hardline), Each level had a title that corresponded with a military rank. For example, Battlefield 2, 3, and 4 used a variation of the United States Marine Corps ranking system, while Battlefield 1 used a variation of the US Army’s ranks front World War 1. Unfortunately, the bland ranking system removes some of the fun that comes with leveling up.

What’s the max level cap?

The max rank in Battlefield 2042 is level 99. However, after reaching that point, players can begin working on S-Levels, which start at S001 and go to S999. So, altogether there are 1,098 levels in the game. However, as far as we can tell, S-Levels are just for bragging rights and don’t currently unlock anything new.

It’s possible that the developers could add more levels in a future update or that they could revamp the ranking system altogether. As it is, they don’t really have any character, and giving them unique names and icons would be an easy way to make the process of leveling up more exciting.
