Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier is a mobile-only battle royale, but fans are curious about whether it has controller support. On-screen controls are fine, but it’s hard to get into a fast-paced shooter like FF7: First Soldier without the precision afforded by a gamepad.
Does FF7: First Soldier have support gamepads?
Fortunately, Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier does have controller support. However, we’re not sure if there’ll be separately matchmaking for controller users or not. If not, using a gamepad will give players a significant edge over those who don’t.
Any controller that’s compatible with iOS and Android should work with FF7: First Soldier. We recommend a standard Xbox controller, but dozens of others are available as well.
Final Fantasy 7: The First Soldier takes place 30 years before the original game and centers around the genesis of Shinra’s SOLDIER program. Promising recruits are taken, bathed in Mako Energy, and trained to be an elite fighting force. The game’s battle royale is framed as a part of SOLDIER training. As part of this training, 75 soldiers are dropped into the Midgar undercity and must fight each other to prove their strength.
Players taking part in FF7: First Soldier’s battle royale will have to contend in PVP combat while also staving off the local wildlife in PVE fights. Monsters like Bombs and Monodrives can prove just as dangerous and human-controlled foes, so players must keep on their toes if they want to survive.
We can assume that the game will somehow expand on the lore about how SOLDIER was created. While it’s not clear, Sephiroth is typically referenced to be the first SOLDIER, but that might not be the case. The first season of the game has already started, and it’s free to play, so give it a shot!
