What’s the Apple Self Service Repair release date?
Apple has announced that Self Service Repair will become available in the US early next year, with plans to roll out to additional countries throughout the year. Sadly, there’s no specific launch date for the Self Service Repair Online Store. The best we know is that iPhone 12 and 13 parts will become available “early next year.”
According to Apple’s official press release, the new service is “intended for individual technicians with the knowledge and experience to repair electronic devices.” Put another way, it’s not a service meant for all users. At launch, Apple plans to focus on the most common repairs. The first wave of available parts will include iPhone 12 and 13 displays, camera arrays, and batteries. After that, the plan is to offer parts for M1 powered Macs, which will rope in the Mac mini and Macbook Air.
Granted, the specific launch dates are all tentative. In fact, this option comes as part of a larger repair strategy overall. The company still continues to expand its Apple Authorized Service Providers as well as its Independent Repair Providers.
For now, customers in the US can expect Apple Self Service Repair to launch early next year. Apple hasn’t provided any specific dates for iPhone 12 and 13 parts yet, but chances are good they’ll be available as soon as first quarter 2022.
