Halo Infinite Best Guns: Weapons tier list for multiplayer

Halo Infinite has an extensive list of weapons for players to war on each other with, but some are better than others. So we’ve put together a Halo Infinite multiplayer weapons tier list, so players can know which guns are worth snagging and which should be left alone.

Halo Infinite Weapons Tier List

Halo Infinite Weapons Tier List AR

We’ve spent some time with Halo Infinite and have picked out the guns we think are top class and those that could use some work. All guns can be used effectively by the right player, and there’s really only one or two stinkers out of the initial weapons list. Fortunately, they’re all unlocked from the beginning of the game, and not as part of the battle pass. However, some are definitely better than others. Additionally, we’re still testing some weapons and will include them in the tier list when we’ve had more time to use them.

  • S Tier Weapons: Cindershot, M41 SPNKR Rocket Launcher, Skewer
  • A Tier Weapons: BR75 Battle Rifle, Gravity Hammer, Heatwave, S7 Sniper
  • B Tier Weapons: Energy Sword, Hydra, MA40 Assault Rifle, MK50 Sidekick, Needler, Plasma Pistol, Pulse Rifle, VK78 Commando
  • C Tier Weapons: CQS48 Bulldog, Disruptor
  • F Tier Weapons: Mangler

S Tier Weapons

Halo Infinite Weapons Tier List SPNKr Rocket Launhcer

  • Cindershot
  • M41 SPNKr Rocket Launcher
  • Skewer

These are the weapons that players should sprint for any time they see them. These are game-changers and take down enemy infantry and vehicles in as few as one hit.

Cindershot

This grenade launcher causes significant splash damage and can be controlled midflight (like a TOW missile) by zooming in. It doesn’t have the raw damage potential of our other two S Tier weapons, but it can be even more deadly in the right hands.

M41 SPNKr Rocket Launcher

The rocket launcher needs no introduction. This bad boy can one-hit infantry, does splash damage, and is also excellent against vehicles. Its biggest drawback is that rockets travel slower than bullets, so pulling off long-range shots against moving targets takes some skill.

Skewer

This new weapon is basically a big harpoon that can one-shot infantry at any range. The projectile is much faster than a rocket, so it makes for a great sniper rifle. The Skewer also performs really well against vehicles, but it can only hold one round at a time, which can put players in a tough position if they’re not careful.

A Tier Weapons

Halo Infinite Weapons Tier List BR

  • BR75 Battle Rifle
  • Gravity Hammer
  • Heatwave
  • S7 Sniper

These weapons are very effective with few flaws.

BR75 Battle Rifle

This series favorite returns in Halo Infinite and is just as useful and powerful as ever. The three-round burst makes it accurate and easy to keep on target, but it does still have a kick that makes it a pain to use at longer ranges.

Gravity Hammer

This melee weapon is excellent if players can get close enough to use it. Its attack has a small splash effect, and it’s a guaranteed one-hit kill if players hit with it dead on.

Heatwave

The Heatwave might not seem great the first time a player picks it up as its standard fire mode shoots six energy balls in a wide horizontal spread. However, tapping the zoom button adjusts the pattern to a tighter vertical spread that is roughly human-sized. In this secondary mode, 2-3 shots will kill if players are hit with all six projectiles.

S7 Sniper

The S7 Sniper is a two-hit killer from practically any range. It’s functionally the same as the sniper rifle from the first halo. It has a 4x-8x scope and a four-round magazine. It rocks at medium-long range, but its low magazine capacity makes short-range combat untenable for most players.

B Tier Weapons

Halo Infinite Weapons Tier List Pistol

  • Energy Sword
  • Hydra
  • MA40 Assault Rifle
  • MK50 Sidekick
  • Needler
  • Plasma Pistol
  • Pulse Rifle
  • VK78 Commando

These weapons are extremely usable, but may have a drawback or two.

Energy Sword

Another iconic Halo weapon that makes its return is the Energy Sword. Unfortunately, the lunge isn’t what it once was, so the sword is an extremely close-range weapon. It’s a one-hit kill for players that can get close enough, but it’s easy to mess up and get killed.

Hydra

This micro-missile launcher does good damage and can lock on with the zoom function. However, its magazine must be reloaded one projectile at a time, which can put players in a pinch. It also has a relatively low firerate, which can be frustrating when engaging more than one target.

MA40 Assault Rifle

The latest incarnation of the assault rifle brings it closer to its original iteration. The rate of fire is closer to the MA5B from Halo: Combat Evolved, which makes it much more deadly at close range. However, the tradeoff for the increased firerate is higher recoil and lower accuracy. The key to fighting with this weapon at medium-long range is to fire in bursts.

MK50 Sidekick

Halo Infinite’s pistol is a lot closer to Halo 2’s M6C Magnum than the M6D from the original. Its biggest asset is its accuracy, but it doesn’t do enough damage to be a great primary weapon. However, it does make for a decent secondary if players run out of ammo or are using an energy weapon as a primary.

Needler

The Needler still needles, and sticking someone with enough of them will still cause an explosion. A simple to use, effective weapon.

Plasma Pistol

A charged Plasma Pistol will take down an enemy’s shields with one shot. However, its poor physical damage only shines when paired up with a good secondary.

Pulse Rifle

At first glance, most players would think this weapon isn’t that great. It fires three plasma rounds that home onto a target, but it doesn’t do a ton of damage. However, what prevents it from slipping into Tier C territory is that firing two bursts will take an enemy’s shields down low enough for a single melee attack to kill them. This makes it a fantastic weapon for those that like to get in close.

VK78 Commando

When playing with the VK78, the gun continually feels like it should be better. It certainly has meaty enough firing effects and a ton of recoil. However, it just isn’t that great compared to the Battle Rifle. It could use either a buff in damage or a reduction in recoil, but it’s just an okay gun until then.

Tier C Weapons

Halo Infinite Weapons Tier List Shotgun

  • CQS48 Bulldog
  • Disruptor

These weapons are still useful, but only in certain situations.

CQS48 Bulldog

The shotgun was a favorite of players in previous games, but this new rendition isn’t great. The CQS48 is a drum-fed shotgun, which mitigates long reload times. However, it doesn’t do much damage unless players are uncomfortably close and the scatter is much too severe. It’s just not powerful enough to be fun to use.

Disruptor

This pistol can disable vehicles or drain shields, but it’s not the best at either of those things. It does so little physical damage that it’s almost a waste of a weapon slot. Still, under the right circumstances, it can be handy.

Tier F Weapons

Halo Infinite Weapon Tier List Mangler

  • Mangler

These weapons are best avoid by most players.

Mangler

The Mangler is just horrible. Its spikes deal a decent amount of damage, but its rate of fire is so slow that it’s better to use almost any other weapon in the game. It’s just not great, and we hate using it.
