Does the upcoming Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition have early access? That’s the question on the minds of fans looking to play before release. The remastered trilogy is due to launch on November 11, 2021, but some want it even earlier. If you want to know how to play before release, then join us in looking at the current GTA Trilogy early access offerings.
Does the GTA Trilogy have early access?
Select media outlets have enjoyed GTA Trilogy early access for review purposes.
There is no GTA Trilogy early access for non-media, meaning you won’t be able to play before release.
However, since the game is so close to its public release, there are some ways to play it just a few hours earlier than others. Firstly, you should know that you are able to preload the game onto your console right now. As such, you’ll want to head onto your device to install the three games now, so you can play them the second they go live. Of course, this will only apply if you’ve pre-ordered a digital copy. In fact, if you’ve got a disk pre-order, you’ll have to wait until December 7 to play, so there are no early access options available.
Sadly, there is no other way to get the game before other players. Often, games release at midnight in each region’s local time, which means countries like Australia get them several hours before the United States. This isn’t the case for the GTA Trilogy, as Rockstar has confirmed that the game goes live for everyone at the same time. That’s at 10 AM EST/7 AM PST/3 PM GMT. As a result, you can’t game the system by changing your device clock to an earlier timezone – you’ll have to wait like everyone else.
While that’s a disappointment, there’s still plenty to be excited about in the GTA Trilogy. We’ve got details on its price and system requirements, as well as the full achievements list.
