Is the Call of Duty: Vanguard Das Haus map actually the White House? That’s a question a lot of CoD fans are asking, due to the multiplayer map’s visual similarities to the American president’s home. There are even some components reminiscent of the Oval Office, making the White House comparisons impossible to ignore. Fear not, as well dig into whether Call of Duty: Vanguard’s Das Haus is the White House map.
Is Das Haus the White House map in Call of Duty: Vanguard?
Yes, if Das Haus looks familiar, there’s good reason. It’s an in-universe mockup of the White House layout, complete with American flags and its very own West Wing.
This multiplayer map doesn’t feature in the campaign. As a result, there isn’t too much background information or context about the map. However, the Das Haus description does partly explain its similarities to the White House. According to in-game files, it’s there to help German special forces “train for an overseas invasion of the White House.”
As such, the similarities to the White House make an awful lot of sense. Of course, it’s a less polished version of the White House, with exposed walls, damp floors, and a general lack of care. We’ve seen the White House plenty of times in other Call of Duty games. It was even a playable zombies map back in Black Ops, under the name “Five.”
Therefore, it isn’t the exact White House as it stands in Washington D.C., but it’s a sinister mock-up for military purposes. Those similarities are no coincidence, and the battles that’ll take place during multiplayer matches contribute to Das Haus’ war-based purpose.
