Will there be Mario Party Superstars More Boards DLC

Mario Party Superstars DLC: Will it get more boards?

There are tons more boards that could come to Mario Party Superstars, so fans are wondering if the game will get DLC. While the five boards the game comes with are great, it would be great to get more. Unfortunately, the prospects of getting Mario Party Superstars DLC are far from certain.

Will Mario Party Superstars get more boards as DLC?

Mario Party Superstars DLC Boards

As of writing, Nintendo hasn’t announced any plans to update Mario Party Superstars will more boards through DLC, free or paid. The boards included with the game are:

  • Peach’s Birthday Cake – Mario Party
  • Yoshi’s Tropical Island – Mario Party
  • Space Land – Mario Party 2
  • Horror Land – Mario Party 2
  • Woody Woods – Mario Party 3

Strangely, Mario Party Superstars doesn’t even include as many boards as the games it draws from. The original Mario Party was released with eight boards, and Mario Party 2 and 3 had six each. In fact, every Mario Party game besides Mario Party 10 and Super Mario Party launched with more boards than this title. Given that these are just remakes of existing boards, only including a measly five boards for a full $60 makes this game a poor value.

Hopefully, Nintendo will offer more boards in the future as DLC, but it’s not likely this will happen. Mario Party Superstars is more of a greatest hits title than a proper main series game. So, Nintendo isn’t likely to keep updating this title. The more likely scenario is that we’ll eventually get five more boards for $60 as Mario Party Superstars 2. The Nintendo tax is reaching epic proportions, and there’s no reason the company would release boards as DLC when they could just package them up as another full-priced game.

Fortunately, the Mario Party games haven’t skyrocketed in price, so players can still purchase all three of the N64 titles for less than Mario Party Superstars. It might be a bit blurrier, but it’s almost four times the content.
