Phasmophobia Nightmare Ghosts

Phasmophobia Nightmare Ghosts: Strengths and weaknesses

Multiple new Phasmophobia Nightmare ghosts have been added as part of the big new Halloween update for the popular multiplayer ghost-hunting game, four in fact: the Onryo, The Twins, Raiju, and Obake. Here players will find all the new Phasmophobia ghosts’ strengths and weaknesses for the Nightmare update’s additional spooks, as well as how to deal with them in a calm, orderly fashion without getting horribly murdered.

Phasmophobia Nightmare Ghosts

Here are all the strengths, weaknesses, tips, and tricks for dealing with all four of the new Phasmophobia Nightmare update’s ghosts:

ONRYO

  • Strengths:
    • Extinguishing a flame can cause an Onryo to attack.
  • Weaknesses:
    • When threatened, especially by fire, this ghost will be less likely to hunt

The Onryo hates fire and will stay away from it at all costs, so if the player is holding a candle or a lighter then the Onryo will stay away from them as long as the flame doesn’t go out. However, once the flame does go out it may strike quickly. Be especially careful of rain on the new campsite map as that’ll leave a little place to hide.

Evidence required to collect for this ghost includes Spirit Box, Ghost Orbs, and freezing temperatures.

THE TWINS

  • Strengths:
    • Either Twin can be angered and initiate an attack on any ghost hunter.
  • Weaknesses:
    • The Twins are likely to interact with the environment at the same time.

The Twins are the only ghost duo in the game, which is both a strength and a weakness. This does mean that the players have two ghosts hunting them at all times, which can seem overwhelming (one is bad enough), but the bright side when it comes to gathering evidence is that The Twins will interact with two places at the same time — making identification pretty easy if it’s spotted.

Evidence that’s needed for this ghost includes EMF level 5, Spirit Box, and freezing temperatures.

RAIJU

  • Strengths:
    • Raiju can drain power from anything electrical to move faster.
  • Weaknesses:
    • They disrupt electronics when close, making it easier to spot or identify them, especially when hunting.

The Raiju is based around electricity so be wary when activating the power junction or even using electrical equipment around them. Draining this power makes them move quicker than normal ghosts, which can be deadly in a hunt. The good news is this makes them potentially very easy to identify.

Evidence needed includes EMF level 5, Ghost Orbs, and D.O.T.S. Projector.

OBAKE

  • Strengths:
    • After interacting with the environment, Obake often doesn’t leave any evidence.
  • Weaknesses:
    • This ghost can leave unique evidence.

Obake is a shapeshifter and supposedly can mimic player-like forms, and what’s worse, may not leave any easy evidence to collect. However, when it does leave evidence such as fingerprints during shapeshifting they will be very distinct, making it easier to identify the Obake — when it actually lets the player do so, of course.

Evidence needed includes EMF level 5, fingerprints, and Ghost Orbs — if the player can get them.
