In Fortnite, the shield fish is one of the most valuable items out there. It provides an instant boost of 50 shield, making it just as valuable as the big shield consumables in the game. The big difference is that they is much harder to come across. They’re very rare items, only spawning in certain locations. If you want to stock up on shield fish for a big Fortnite battle, we’ve got the shield fish locations.
Where are the shield fish locations in Fortnite?
Generally speaking, you can find these shield boosts anywhere. The black and blue fish, the most common, can spawn at any point across the map. You find them by heading to patches of water with a fishing rod, and seeing what you can find.
However, some of the other shield fish variants are only found in specific locations of the map. These are as follows:
- Black striped fish – beaches and Sweaty Sands
- Green fish – forest areas
- Pink fish – Weeping Woods, but only when using a pro fishing rod
- Light blue fish – can be found anywhere
As you can see, they aren’t too hard to come by in Fortnite. In fact, they appear in all types of biome across the map. It makes sense that the rarer variants spawn by the sea, too. They are fish, after all!
Interestingly, these variants are only rarer in drop frequency, rather than having a healing boost. No matter which type of fish you manage to catch, they’ll only provide a 50-point boost. You can stack up to three fish, giving you the chance to fully restore your shield if you take damage in battle.
