Deathloop Easy Mode: Can you lower difficulty?

Deathloop can be punishingly difficult. With death being a key part of the gameplay and story, it shouldn’t be surprising that main character Colt is pretty fragile. At the game’s start, he can be killed in just a few seconds of sustained fire or a couple of melee attacks. It will no doubt send some players hunting for the Deathloop easy mode difficulty option. However, making the game easier is trickier than players may think.

Is there a Deathloop easy mode?

No, there is no Deathloop easy mode. There are no difficulty options at all.

For those hoping to dive into the gameplay settings and tweak Deathloop’s difficulty to easy, there’s bad news: it’s not possible to make Deathloop easier with a quick mode change. At least at the time of writing, developer Arkane Studios is clearly keen on all players to experience the game with the same level of challenge.

Just as an easy mode is absent, there is no Deathloop hard mode, either. All players will be experiencing the game at the same difficulty setting, which makes more sense when you consider the invasion multiplayer aspect.

Can you make Deathloop easier to play?

Players can make Deathloop easier to play by doing the following:

  • Complete side content.
    • Hunting down new weapons and abilities can be of huge help against the tougher enemies and areas.
  • Upgrade Slabs.
    • Take down Visionaries multiple times to upgrade the Slab. This will make it more effective.
  • Infuse more equipment.
    • Infusing allows players to bring weapons, Slabs, and other equipment back through the loop. This makes each subsequent loop easier to play through. Take the time to infuse your favorite and most powerful tools.
