Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 1

Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 1: Release Date, time, how to watch

Here’s everything that’s currently known about Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 1, including when it’s going to come out. After the shocking events of the Rick and Morty Season 5 finale, the only thing every fan wants to know is when they can expect to see the next season. The Rick and Morty Season 6 release date or launch time, in particular, is probably going to be the first thing Googled after the events of ‘Rickmurai Jack’. Here’s the info.

What is the Rick and Morty Season 6 release date?

Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 1

The release date for Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 1 has not been revealed but it is expected to be around summer 2022.

With that said, given past Rick and Morty seasons, that is by no means certain. However, the good news is that Rick and Morty Season 6 is definitely happening and is already in production, as Adult Swim signed the show up for 70 more episodes back in July — meaning there are quite possibly as much as seven seasons of Rick and Morty on the way if the show sticks to its 10-episode format for seasons.

It is actually really difficult to judge when Season 6 will happen because previous seasons have not stuck to any particular schedule. Just because Season 5 Episode 1 launched in June 2021, there is no guarantee the next season will follow at a similar time.

Spoilers for the Season 5 finale follow!

What will happen in Rick and Morty Season 6 Episode 1?

At the end of the Rick and Morty Season 5 finale, Evil Morty had successfully enacted his plan to bring down the Central Finite Curve, destroy the Citadel, and either kill or block most of the various Ricks and Mortys from escaping. As revealed in the episode, the Central Finite Curve meant that every single universe that Rick and Morty have visited so far has had Rick as the smartest person in that universe — now the wall has come crashing down, that means there is now no limits on what Rick and Morty can be in each universe. Plus, Evil Morty is still out there and Rick no longer has his Portal Gun, so Season 6 will be interesting — whenever it happens.
