As another month rolls around in Pokemon Go, there’s another chance to battle the elusive leader of Team GO Rocket, Giovanni. Fighting Giovanni is no easy feat, requiring plenty of work beforehand, but when you do it, there’s a chance to catch the incredibly rare Mewtwo. We’ve got all the details on where to find Giovanni in Pokemon Go in September 2021.
Where to find Pokemon Giovanni location and fight him (September 2021)
September 2021 is a strange month for Pokemon Go, as developers Niantic have confirmed that Giovanni is currently missing. Here’s what we know so far:
- In a blog post from August, Niantic said “Team GO Rocket’s Boss seems to be missing.”
- You won’t be able to find him in-game, as Super Rocket Radars cannot locate him at the moment
Therefore, finding Giovanni in Pokemon Go in September 2021 is a near-on impossible task. Normally Giovanni is constantly in the game, appearing as the final boss of the “Looming in the Shadows” research. There, you’d get the chance to fight him once you’ve defeated Team GO Rocket leaders Sierra, Cliff, and Arlo.
However, it appears that Giovanni is in hiding right now, as it’s impossible to locate him in Pokemon Go. Niantic do make it seem like he’ll be back soon though, instructing players to “keep an eye out for updates throughout the season.”
If you can’t find Giovanni on your Super Rocket Radar, then there’s a good reason for it. It means you won’t be able to battle him and catch the Mewtwo that comes as a reward for defeating him. Instead, it’ll be a matter of waiting until Niantic brings him back. By the sounds of things, he’ll be back meaner and more powerful than ever.
