Ghost of Tsushima Director’s Cut gives players the chance to get Bloodborne armor which puts a ronin spin on Yharnam’s Victorian horror motif. It can be found by visiting the Blood-Stained Shrine on Iki Island and solving a puzzle. However, this can be frustrating because the riddle players see at the statue is opaque as to what they need to do to get the armor.
How to solve the Blood-Stained Shrine puzzle in Ghost of Tsushima and get the Bloodborne armor
To get the Bloodborne armor in Ghost of Tsushima, players must first find the Blood-Stained Shrine. This place is located in the Conoura Cape region. It’s south of Fune’s Refuge and is the easiest of the three Wind Shrines to find.
When players explore the shrine, they’ll find the only instruction they’ll get to solve the puzzle, a poem:
“A Forgotten Shrine
The first green of spring
sickens to black, decaying,
plagued by blood and beast.
Hunter, reject death’s allure.
Prepare to duel man’s frailty.”
This poem is referring to Bloodborne, but what do we need to do to solve the puzzle? The first part of the poem can be ignored, as like with the Shrine of Ashes puzzle, the solution to this riddle is contained in the last two lines.
Players will have to equip a certain armor and perform a particular action to obtain the Bloodborne armor. In this case, the poem refers to the Kensei Armor, which Jin receives from defeating the notorious ronin. Additionally, Jin must “reject death’s allure.”
So the solution to the Blood-Stained Shrine puzzle in Ghost of Tsushima is:
- Equip the Kensei Armor.
- Climb the cliff near the statue.
- Jump from high enough to cause damage to Jin.
- Immediately heal.
If done correctly, a small scene will play, and Jin will be equipped the Yharnam Helm and the Yharnam Vestments Shader for Kensei Armor.
