Eternals will definitely appear on Disney Plus this year and will likely either fall on November 5 or December 20.
The exact date that Marvel’s Eternals movie will appear on Disney Plus is currently undecided, as is whether or not it will appear on Disney’s streaming service on November 5 at the same time as the theatrical release date.
When and how Eternals will appear on Disney Plus entirely comes down to the theatrical performance of Shang-Chi. Marvel’s last movie Black Widow underperformed in its theatrical release, which was partly blamed on the concurrent release it had on Disney Plus. Shang-Chi, on the other hand, will only launch on Disney Plus 45 days after its theatrical release date of September 3 in an attempt to boost theatrical sales. If this “experiment” is a success, then it’s likely Eternals will do the same thing and won’t get a Disney Plus release until 45 days later on December 20. Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige told Variety “theater would be my preference” but “we will see where we go with it,” suggesting they haven’t yet made a decision regarding Disney Plus.
