Hades has finally arrived on consoles, but the transition hasn’t gone entirely smoothly. Players on Xbox consoles, including the One and Series X|S, seem to be having trouble unlocking trophies. This is fast becoming a widespread problem, but thankfully, it has a very simple fix. Here’s how to make sure your Hades achievements on Xbox unlock properly.
How to fix Hades Xbox achievements not unlocking
It’s unclear why Hades achievements aren’t unlocking on Xbox, but there is an easy fix: Restart the console. Once you’ve done a full power cycle of your Xbox, reopen Hades and all of your earned achievements will unlock.
As problems go, this is fairly minor. In fact, it seems to be a sort of quirk of Hades itself: Even on the current Steam version, some achievements won’t unlock until you re-launch the game or enter certain rooms. It is unintended behavior, but it’s not so malicious as to require an immediate patch.
With that said, it is likely to be patched in a future update. Hades is still new to consoles, Xbox included, meaning there are still a few little bugs to work out. The team at Supergiant are almost certainly developing the next patch right now. Hopefully this won’t remain a problem for very long.
Of course, it’s possible you’re not encountering a bug at all. Achievements in Hades can be tough, so if one of them doesn’t unlock when you think it should have, double check you’ve satisfied all of its prerequisites. Some of the game’s more difficult achievements are deceptively tricky, taking dozens of runs as well as multiple chance encounters to complete.
If you completed an achievement that didn’t unlock in Hades, restart your Xbox system. So long as you rightfully earned the achievement, it will unlock the next time you launch the game after a full power cycle. A future patch will almost certainly fix this issue, but for now, a full restart is the simplest solution.
