Zelda Ocarina of Time Switch release date

Talk to any Legend of Zelda fan and they’re likely to tell you the best game in the series is Ocarina of Time. It was a groundbreaking achievement at the time, and it certainly marks a high point for the series. That’s why many players are eager to play Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo Switch. But does Nintendo have plans to bring the Hero of Time to its hybrid handheld?

Is there a Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch release date?

Is there a Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch release date?

Unfortunately, it seems Nintendo has no plans to bring The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to the Nintendo Switch. Despite the recent celebration of the series’ 35th anniversary, no new ports or remasters have been announced. Until we hear otherwise, there is no Ocarina of Time Switch release date.

Frankly, it’s a bit disappointing. Ocarina of Time is often heralded as the single best Zelda game of all time. It’s even considered the single best game of all time, depending on who you ask. Plus, Ocarina of Time was available on the Wii U through the Virtual Console. In fact, it’s been playable on every home console Nintendo has made since it launched back in 1998. There’s even a version with 3D-enhanced visuals that released for the 3DS in 2011.

So why isn’t Ocarina of Time on the Nintendo Switch? No one knows. What we do know, however, is that series creator Eiji Aonuma confirmed that there are no plans to bring a Zelda 35th anniversary collection to the Nintendo Switch. A future port isn’t impossible, but if the classic N64 release is ever coming to Nintendo’s latest console, the company is staying quiet about it.

Sorry, folks. There is no Zelda: Ocarina of Time Switch release date, because Nintendo hasn’t mentioned plans to bring the game to the Nintendo Switch. Unless a new port or remaster is announced, you’re better off playing old versions of the game. Otherwise, you could try waiting until Nintendo finally releases an N64 Classic mini console, which would almost certainly include Ocarina of Time.
