The Legend of Zelda Game and Watch: How to preorder Zelda G&W

The E3 2021 Nintendo Direct presentation has finished, and it included a special surprise for retro gamers and collectors. We speak, of course, of the new Legend of Zelda Game and Watch system. The latest in Nintendo’s throwback hardware, the Zelda G&W offers three classic Zelda games as well as one Game and Watch exclusive game. Here’s everything we’ve heard about the Zelda Game and Watch price and preorder availability so far.

The Legend of Zelda Game and Watch price and preorder

Nintendo has not yet provided price or preorder details for the Legend of Zelda Game and Watch system. However, we can assume it will cost around $50, which is the suggested retail price for the latest Super Mario Bros Game and Watch system.

Of course, since we’re talking Nintendo hardware, pricing is subject to change based on availability. When the Super Mario Bros Game and Watch system launched for $50, it quickly sold out. Naturally, early units wound up being resold at much higher prices. Thankfully, the price and stock have since stabilized.

However, it’s worth mentioning that the Zelda G&W system includes more games than its latest Mario counterpart. Four games are included: The Legend of Zelda, The Legend of Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link, The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (note: not the Switch remaster), and the Game and Watch exclusive Vermin. And not only are there more games on offer, they’re also bigger in general. As such, it’s possible that the amount of content on offer will raise the price above the expected $50 MSRP.

Fortunately, we shouldn’t have to wait much longer to learn more details. The Legend of Zelda Game and Watch system is slated to release on November 12, 2021. With a launch only about five months away, we’re certainly going to hear more about preorder and price in the weeks to come. Here’s to hoping they won’t sell out before the holidays.
