The Fortnite Season 7 patch notes were recently revealed, showing what players can expect from the extensive new update to the game. This includes a new map, a new victory umbrella, and the aforementioned Superman and Rick Sanchez skins. The DC superhero and Rick and Morty character will both be available to unlock as Battle Pass rewards, with both being in keeping with the game’s new alien ‘Invasion’ angle.
Fortnite has been rolling out increasingly wild updates, with Season 6’s ‘Primal’ theme seeing the addition of wild animals to its now-iconic map. Invasion brings aliens into the mix, as UFOs descend upon the battle royale map for players to contend with. As always, there is a slew of unlockables that share this new alien theme, which players can obtain as they level up through playing or completing its new series of challenges.
The biggest new addition is, of course, Superman, who now joins other DC superheroes such as Batman as playable characters in the continuously evolving game. Older players will also appreciate the addition of Rick Sanchez, who joins the game from the hugely popular Adult Swim animated series Rick and Morty.
In other superhero news, it looks like Gotham Knights won’t make an appearance at E3 2021, with the game likely set to sit out the event alongside Hogwarts Legacy. Speaking of E3, we’ve revealed our predictions for the Nintendo, Xbox, and Bethesda presentations.
