In Resident Evil Village, players will find a Treasure Map in the attic of Castle Dimitrescu. Unfortunately, whoever made the map isn’t the best artist, so finding the treasure’s location is confusing. Furthermore, once players get there, they’re confronted with a puzzle that requires them to light two torches, which can also be frustrated. Luckily, we’ve figured out how to find treasure location in Castle Dimitrescu and how to light the torches to get to the coffin containing it.
Where is the Castle Dimitrescu treasure location in Resident Evil Village?
The Treasure Map players find in the attic of Castle Dimitrescu is a rough drawing that shows a path leading from the kitchen to a corner of the dungeon. Unfortunately, this map is a bit misleading. There is a place called Dungeon in the castle, which is the area where Lady Dimitrescu cuts off Ethan’s hand and chases him around. However, this isn’t where the treasure is located.
The big problem is that the Treasure Map doesn’t look anything like the area to which it’s trying to lead. To get to the treasure, the player needs to enter the kitchen, proceed downstairs, head through the Hall of War into the Chamber of Solace. The treasure is located in a room in the northeast corner that requires the Iron Insignia Key to unlock.
How to light the torches to get the Castle Dimitrescu treasure in Resident Evil Village
When players enter the Castle Dimitrescu treasure room, they’ll notice two unlit torches hanging from the ceiling. These torches must be lit to lower the cage surrounding the coffin in the middle of the room. Players can see a tall torch flickering through a cracked wall in the northern part of the room.
The first order of business is to bring that crumbling wall down. Fortunately, there’s a handy Pipe Bomb on a nearby ledge that’ll do the job perfectly. Throw the Pipe Bomb at the cracked wall, and the explosion will open it up.
Push the unlit torch closest to the lit one toward it. It might take a few tries to balance it well enough to push it into the flame. Now comes the tricky part. Once the first hanging torch is lit, players will need to use it to light the other one. At first, it’ll seem like this is impossible, but it’s not. Just push the lit one toward the unlit one, and it’ll eventually ignite. For us, it didn’t work until we pushed them together and shot the lit one to project it toward the unlit one.
Eventually, both torches will be lit, and the iron fencing around the coffin will retract. Once it’s gone, players can open the coffin to get a ring. It might be tempting to sell this as treasure, but make sure to hold onto it until the pale eyeball attached to the ring can be attached to another piece of treasure, which will make a much more valuable item…
