This quest is available after starting Lilac and Gooseberries and needs to be completed before you can finish it. The Griffin Trophy you get after the fight will give Geralt a bonus to dismembering foes.
Along the way you will also have the opportunity to complete the Secondary Quest On Death's Bed when you talk to the herbalist. It's a pretty simple quest if you've already learned how to craft the Swallow potion.

GAMER TIP: Vist the Blacksmith in White Orchard before the battle to apply combat bonuses to Geralt's armor and swords. Each bonus lasts about 20 minutes.
GAMER NOTE: Once you craft an item like a Potion,Oil, or Bomb in Witcher 3 meditating will replenish them as long as you have alcohol in your inventory. You do not need to find the necessary components over and over again for each oil, potion or bomb individually after crafting them once.
SECONDARY QUEST - On Deaths Bed

There is a woman in her care who has been injured by the Griffin and Swallow is the only potion that may have a chance of helping her.
GAMER TIP: If you have crafted Swallow and are simply out of it, meditate in order to replenish it. entering homes and searching valuables will often allow you to gather essentials crafting items instead of having to buy them from vendors. If you do need to craft it, here's the recipe.
