Post Malone Minecraft: Was the rapper part of Team Crafted?

Minecraft is an incredibly popular game, so it isn’t too surprising to hear that it has some famous fans. Rapper, singer, and songwriter Post Malone, however, took his fandom a step further than most before becoming a big-time celebrity. The musician was a Minecraft creator, producing video content around the game to share online. Here’s the need-to-know on the Post Malone Minecraft connection.

Was Post Malone a Minecraft YouTuber?

Yes. Before becoming a famous rap artist, Post Malone belonged to a group of Minecraft YouTubers known as Team Crafted.

As a teen, Malone played a lot of Minecraft and eventually lent his skills to Team Crafted. The group has since disbanded, though a young Post Malone can be seen appearing (and even performing) in unlisted Team Crafted YouTube videos.

Here’s a look at Post Malone in the Team Crafted Minecraft house in Los Angeles:

At the 19-second mark, “Leon DeChino” receives an introduction. This is a known Post Malone alias, with the music star even addressing his DeChino character in later interviews. Malone’s alter ego even receives a shout-out in the song Psycho, where the lyrics “DeChino the sh*t” appear in the first verse.

Post Malone is no stranger to the world of gaming, though. Malone spent some time streaming PUBG after achieving renown, plus became a HypeX brand ambassador for the company’s gaming peripherals. Most recently, he performed a virtual concert in celebration of the Pokemon 25th anniversary.

So, while it’s a little-known fact, Post Malone was once a Minecraft content creator. Malone hasn’t made any new Minecraft videos for a number of years now, which is understandable thanks to his lucrative new career. Since the rapper still has a toe in the games industry, however, maybe one day he’ll make a triumphant return to the Minecraft scene.

There’s plenty of time to do so, as, despite rumors to the contrary, Minecraft isn’t shutting down in 2021.
