A League of Legends: Wild Rift Switch release would make a lot of sense. With the MOBA being purpose-built for mobile devices and Riot Games stating that it will launch on consoles, the Switch is the most ideal platform for it to release on. So is LoL: Wild Rift coming to Nintendo Switch?
Is there a League of Legends: Wild Rift Switch release date?
League of Legends: Wild Rift is confirmed to come to consoles like the Nintendo Switch, with Riot Games previously revealing that the MOBA would begin to launch on platforms “starting 2020.” The game has been available on mobile since last year via pre-registration, with it officially launching in the Americas this week.
However, while Riot Games maintains that LoL: Wild Rift will eventually be available on consoles, no set release date for this has been put in place. Riot has also not mentioned which platforms it will release on.

Despite this lack of information, the Nintendo Switch is the clear frontrunner in terms of which consoles would ideally host Wild Rift. The MOBA utilizes touchscreen controls on iPhone and Android, which would make it perfectly suited to the Switch in its handheld mode. For it to launch on the likes of the PS5 and Xbox Series X, more changes would have to be made in order to get it to function properly.
Given that League of Legends remains one of the most popular games on PC, Wild Rift could share similar success with a launch on other platforms. Though it has a more hardcore audience than perhaps exists on the Switch, Wild Rift makes considerable efforts to transform its complicated gameplay into a more manageable and accessible experience. The console will also eventually be home to Pokemon Unite, a Tencent MOBA that takes place within the Pokemon universe, so the Switch won’t be a stranger to the genre.
In other news, the Cyberpunk 2077 1.2 update was recently revealed. Another Call of Duty WW2 game was also reportedly leaked.
