How to ride monsters in Monster Hunter Rise

To ride monsters in Monster Hunter Rise players must do the following:

  1. Damage a monster until it is in a mountable state.
    • Keep attacking a monster so that the “Ride Wyvern” prompt appears.
  2. Push “A” to mount the monster.
  3. Now hold “R” and move the left analog stick to maneuver the beast.
  4. A gauge at the bottom of the screen shows how much time you can ride for.

While riding a monster, players can move around the map at great speed. They can also evade enemy monsters or fight back with light and heavy attacks. There are ultimate moves available for each monster, which become available when the gauge at the bottom of the screen is filled.

Keeping an eye out for opportunities where players can mount a monster can be key to turning the tide of battle. Taking control of one monster to fight another can be clutch during moments where healing items are running low and the enemy is still at high health.
