Bravely Default 2 character creation

Is there Bravely Default 2 character creation?

Is Bravely Default 2 character creation possible? After booting up the game on Nintendo Switch for the first time, many players immediately wonder if they can make their own custom protagonist. Unlike other JRPGs, BD2 doesn’t immediately thrust users into a character creation screen. But, is it possible to customize a unique player character later in the game? Here’s the lowdown on a Bravely Default 2 character creation suite.

Does Bravely Default 2 have character creation?

Bravely Default 2 character creation

Bravely Default: Fairy’s Effect — the mobile instalment that, unfortunately, has now been shut down — featured character creation. Considering that create-a-character features have been part of the Bravely Default franchise, it’s understandable that fans want to see them return. Did Square Enix make it happen with a character creation tool in Bravely Default 2, though?

Bravely Default 2 allows players to customize their party of characters with equipable gear and equipment items. There is no character creation suite to build a protagonist or party members from scratch, however. Since the game features a set cast, players are not able to make their own custom character in BD2.

It’s unlikely that Square Enix will add a character creator post-launch, so fans of the series may need to keep their fingers crossed for a sequel. Hopefully, Bravely Default 3 (assuming that’d be the title, what with the series’ strange naming conventions) will have a character editor. There’s been no sequel announcement at the time of writing, though.

Although the lack of a Bravely Default 2 character editor might be disheartening, the game is worth sticking with nonetheless. Its gameplay boasts a lot of depth, largely thanks to the sheer volume available of job roles. Check out this list of all BD2 jobs, plus how to raise the job level cap.

Raising the cap will help players to tackle the Bravely Default 2 endgame content, as the Nintendo Switch JRPG features a New Game+ mode for dedicated players to enjoy.
