The Goblin Problem quest in Stardew Valley requires players to find a way past a goblin blocking the path to the Witch’s Hut. The secret behind getting the Goblin to move is the Void Mayo item (which is fortunately less rare than Prismatic Jelly), but there’s little clue as to its location. Fortunately, it’s not that hard to get once players know where to look.
How to complete the Goblin Problem quest in Stardew Valley
Players won’t run into the Goblin Problem quest in Stardew Valley until they’ve completed the Community Center Bundles (or Joja Community Development Form) and finished the Dark Talisman quest. After getting the Dark Talisman, players can use it to open the passage at the northeast end of the railroad, which leads to the Witch’s Swamp.
Unfortunately, players will soon discover a Goblin blocking the narrow path leading up to the Witch’s Hut. Unfortunately, the only hint the game gives players is that they should seek out more information on Goblins. There is a lost book that offers the answer to this problem, but it appears at random.
Here’s what the lost book has to say about Goblins:
“A traditional Goblin diet consists of grub meat, typically from the large and juicy grub varieties native to the Goblin home-forest. On special occasions, Goblins will indulge in an item called ‘void mayonnaise’… considered perhaps the finest delicacy in all Goblin cuisine.”
Stardew Valley Void Mayo location
So, to get the Goblin to move in Stardew Valley, players need to find Void Mayo. Fortunately, the location where the item can be obtained is extremely close. Fishing in the Witch’s Swamp has around a 1/4 chance of snagging a jar of Void Mayonnaise. It shouldn’t take players long to get the item at all.
Once a player has the mayo in their inventory, they just need to speak to the Goblin. He’ll take it, and the way to the Witch’s Hut will be clear.
