Cyberpunk 2077 has proven to be a divisive game, just like Kojima Productions’ Death Stranding. The Cyberpunk 2077 x Death Stranding crossover might make more sense than one would initially imagine, then… maybe? Regardless, one larger question remains: Is the Death Stranding Cyberpunk 2077 content on PS4 and PS5? Here’s the need-to-know for console players.
Is the Death Stranding Cyberpunk 2077 content available on PlayStation?
The Cyberpunk 2077 Death Stranding missions, hacking ability, and items are now available for free on PC. That’s a lot of new Cyberpunk-themed content to enjoy in Death Stranding via Steam and the Epic Games Store, but what about the loyal PlayStation players? Death Stranding originally released on PS4 and in partnership with Sony, so surely they won’t miss out?
The Death Stranding Cyberpunk 2077 content is exclusive to PC. It’s possible that Kojima Productions will release it on PlayStation in the future, but for now, it can only be accessed via the Steam and EGS versions of the game. Gamers can not download the new Cyberpunk-inspired vehicle, cosmetics, hacking ability, or missions on PS4 and PS5.
Kojima Productions has not made any announcements regarding the availability of its Death Stranding Cyberpunk 2077 DLC on PlayStation at this time.
It’s a real shame, as the new downloadable content only serves to improve what was already a fantastic experience. Although PlayStation fans are missing out at launch, it seems possible that the Cyberpunk content could come to Death Stranding on PS4 in the future. Since both games are already available on Sony’s platform, it’s unlikely that licensing issues are to blame for its absence.
Speculatively, the negative console reception of Cyberpunk could be to blame for a delay. It’s possible that Koji Pro wants to distance itself from that product until the promised stability updates arrive.
Anyone playing Cyberpunk should note there are missable missions that can auto-fail. As a result, it’s a good idea to make frequent use of the quicksave function.
