Black Ops Cold War Prestige bug

Black Ops Cold War Prestige Bug | How to fix slow leveling

Some dedicated Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War players have already hit the max level cap and chosen to Prestige. Reaching the next Prestige rank allows players to keep leveling up, but an annoying glitch currently makes that a slow process. The Black Ops Cold War Prestige bug makes for painfully slow leveling after Prestiging, and can affect players across PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S. Here’s the lowdown on a slow Prestige ranking fix.

CoD: Black Ops Cold War Prestige Bug | Slow leveling fix

Black Ops Cold War Prestige bug

The CoD: Black Ops Cold War leveling bug seems pretty widespread, with several user reports cropping up on Reddit. After hitting 1st Prestige, leveling becomes much slower than it was initially. Although this could be down to simple misinterpretation, there are discrepancies in how ranks are displayed in-game. The post-match “After Action Report” screen shows a higher level than elsewhere, which is more in line with where users should be. So, is there a fix for appearing under-leveled after Prestiging in Black Ops Cold War?

Activision is reportedly investigating the Black Ops Cold War Prestige bug that causes slow leveling. The development team at Treyarch should now be aware of the rank glitch and actively be investigating the problem. It seems sensible to expect a patch in the not-too-distant future.

At present, there’s no known solution or workaround for the Prestige leveling glitch. Unfortunately, users will just have to wait for a Black Ops Cold War game update to release containing an official fix. Hopefully, all those affected will be restored to the proper Prestige level displayed on After Action Report screens.

It’s par for the course, but Black Ops Cold War has plenty of additional launch issues. Here’s how to deal with the “Server Queue” error message. Also, the “Collar 43 Good Wolf” and “Yonker 43 Good Wolf” error codes are appearing frequently for many players.
