Teaching the horse to swim in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla is one of the new features surrounding the series’ most trusty vehicle. But it isn’t there right away and requires an upgrade, which is something that is necessary for the Seahorse trophy or achievement. Here’s how to get the horse to swim in ACV.
How to teach the horse to swim in Assassin’s Creed Valhalla
Go to or a build a stable
Getting the horse to swim in Valhalla doesn’t take much work, but it will require a thing a lot of players will likely skip over: the stable. The stable is one of the items on the map with a horse icon. There is usually one in each of the settlements, including the players if they have built one. Building one at the Ravensthorpe homestead cost 400 supplies and 30 raw materials. It will likely be one of the first things every player builds.
Find the stable manager
Going to a stable manager either in Ravensthorpe or in the wild will open up a shop-like menu.
Pick riding training and then swimming lessons
There are two options: see shop and riding training. Pick riding training. There three initial upgrades for the horse. One is strength training that gives the horse more health. One is endurance training that yields more stamina. And the final one is swimming lessons that teach the horse how to swim. It cost 150 silver so it isn’t that expensive.
After buying that upgrade, the horse will no longer bail when riding it into deep water. It will paddle with Eivor on the back. There is another upgrade, too, that increases the swimming speed of the mount. It should show up right after the initial swimming upgrade is purchased. It costs 300 silver and significantly raises the horse’s swimming speed and is quite worth it since it becomes a viable way to cross rivers to find a spot to fish at. Horses are also useful in that players can assassinate from them, too.
