How to get to Crown Tundra in Pokemon Sword and Shield

To get to The Crown Tundra in Pokemon Sword and Shield, you first need to make sure you’ve purchased the games’ Expansion Pass. After updating the software, you’ll be given an item called Crown Pass that will take you to the new Crown Tundra location.

Here’s how it works. Once you load your game after getting the expansion update, you’ll notice the Crown Pass item in your inventory. You’ll need to take the this item to the Wedgehurst Station in the southern reaches of the Galar Region.

There, you’ll encounter a rail staff employee next to the Pokemart who notices you’re carrying a pass. He’ll ask you if you want to travel to Crown Tundra. Tell him you do, select the Crown Tundra Station, then board the train southward to the new region.

Once you arrive, you’ll be greeted by two characters known as Peony and Dia. In traditional Pokemon fashion, they’ll first want to make sure your battling skills are up to par. Peony will rope you into a fight against his steel-type Pokemon Copperjah and Aggron, so come prepared with ground- or fire-type creatures.

After the fight, you’ll team up with Peony in order to explore the frozen region. Here you’ll find plenty of new pocket monsters to collect, including several Legendary Pokemon.

It’s easy to get to Crown Tundra: Simply take your Crown Pass to Wedgehurst Station and board the train south. Afterward, the frozen expanses of the latest Pokemon Sword and Shield expansion will be open for exploration.
